Younger women generally do not consider themselves to be at risk for breast cancer. Only five percent of all breast cancer cases occur in women under 40 years old. However, breast cancer can strike at any age, and all women should be aware of their personal risk factors for breast cancer. Below you will be introduced to Whitney Ladd. Whitney is 27 years of age. Whitney found out in December of 2012 that she has breast cancer. Only five months later she will be going in for a double mastectomy.
We are going to raise money for Whitney and her family and we are hoping you will help. Most of us, unfortunately have heard of or have known a friend or a loved one that has been diagnosed with cancer. We typically hear this next statement, and most don't think twice about it... "early detection is key". Why do we wait until we find out about things to react to them? How many of us are truly proactive? How many more people can be saved if we keep this on the forefront of our minds like the oil change that is due? Or the bills that are due? Maybe we think about it as much as we do Christmas with our kids, because if we don't... that just may be the next Christmas you spend without them. Let's pay this one forward and ease the financial burden of this disease from Whitney and her family as she fights the fight of her life.
This is Whitney Ladd!
For those of you who have ever spent more than a few minutes with Whitney, you know what a wonderful person she is and how she has influenced lives in ways that are nothing short of amazing. When we invited Whitney to the mansion, we sat at the dining room table and just talked. When we explained what we wanted to do, an out-pouring of emotion happened. This family, who had no idea what to expect, was genuinely blown away that someone was willing to do whatever was necessary to make their life easier. I don't know what happened at that moment, but I do know we are now even more driven to make this so special for this wonderful person.
Early last December, only weeks before her 27th birthday, Whitney was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and began the fight with her first round of chemo just days after Christmas.
As it happened to Whitney, it could happen to any of us.
Even while facing such adversity, she has demonstrated incredible amounts of strength and courage, making her an inspiration to not only her friends and family, but to everyone that crosses her path. After all the unconditional love and support she has given many in their times of need, we would like to give her the same. Regardless of the amount, any contributions are greatly appreciated. Let's see if we can surpass any goal and completely eliminate ALL of her debt! Please keep Whitney and her family in your thoughts and prayers!
We would love for you to meet Whitney, learn more about breast cancer and help us help her on June 9, 2013. This day will start at 2:00 p.m. and will end sometime after dark. We will make this a magical day for Whitney and we hope, with your support a financially free day for her family.
